CASP

(Cardiovascular Assessment Screening Program)

Progress
Step 4 of 7

Use CASP to help you lower your risk.

Talk to a Healthcare Provider

  • Talk to them about what you learned after doing the CASP Self-assessment.
  • Tell them that you are interested in further assessment (e.g., lipid profile, other blood work) and finding out about how to manage your risk factors.
  • Talk to them about the CASP website and that there are tools for you and health care providers to identify risk factors and discuss ways to lower risk.

If you don’t have a healthcare provider:

Identify possible risk factors from your self-assessment (CASP) and find resources to start to work on the ones you can (e.g., smoking, diet, weight).

Use Google to find healthcare options in your area. For example, NL offers information on registering with Patient Connect NL (to get on wait list for an available MD or NP), finding walk in clinics, using 811, accessing Find a Doctor (a service identifying MDs taking new patients), and using pharmacists as a resource.
